Everyday Autumn outfit

December 3, 2019

Picking a favourite season feels like an impossible thing to do for me. I’m all about long summer evenings by the lake, but I also get really excited about Christmas and the weeks leading up to it. Getting up early in the Spring and slowly feeling the weather warm up energises me and brings me a lot of joy, but nothing beats the crisp air on an Autumn morning, right? I’m happy to live in a country where we have four different seasons, as I like the constant change, which motivates and inspires me to bring changes into my life as well.

If I’d really have to pick a favourite season, however, it would probably be Autumn. And prove me wrong, but I think London is simply the most beautiful and charming in the season of pumpkin spice and cosy knits. The leaves glowing gold under the sun, the crisp mornings, and the sense of change in the air…. not to mention it’s the season of Pumpkin Spice Latte (I’m such a “basic bitch” when it comes to my food & drink preferences)! One of the reasons why I appreciate London so much is because of its many parks and gardens, making it possible to really see the seasons change even if you’re in a big city.

Now, most of the trees have already lost their colourful leaves, meaning that we’re reaching the end of the Autumn season, but I still wanted to share these pictures with you. Some time ago, my friend Naomi and I met up near King’s Cross Station in London and we had a wonderful time catching up and doing a little photo shoot!

Outfit details

Remember my blog post featuring my everyday Spring outfit I wrote earlier this year? I talked about my love for oversized blazers, and as you can see on these pictures I’m still all about that trend. On these pictures I’m wearing a classic Daniel Hechter blazer, which I like both because of its oversized fit and because of the golden buttons, giving the blazer an interesting and classy touch. Underneath the blazer I’m wearing a black satin dress. I like wearing this dress with a fine golden buckle belt and a pair of lace up boots, which I think combine well with the feminine dress. I’m all about finding that perfect balance between romantic and delicate dresses like this one and edgy items like the boots!

To brighten up this all black outfit I layered up two gold necklaces from Muru Jewellery, the brand I’m currently doing my internship at. As a welcome gift, I got to pick out my favourite pieces, and I decided to go for a moon choker necklace, one of their best-sellers. The other necklace features the Greek goddess Athena and is symbolic of wisdom. I studied Greek and Latin for six years, so I love how Muru created a collection of stylish and effortless jewellery inspired by mythology and foreign cultures.

I'm a copywriter & content creator with a passion for travelling, sustainable fashion & literature. I turned my dream into reality by moving from Ghent to London, where you can find me browsing vintage markets, sipping coffee in my favourite coffee shops early in the morning or spending too much money on vegan food. As an endless wanderer, what truly sets my soul on fire is travelling and the excitement of discovering new places and getting lost in unknown cities. I started this platform to share my travel stories with you, but I'd also love to take you along on my journey into a more sustainable lifestyle, share my appreciation for vintage shopping and thrifting, and motivate you to find joy in the little things.
