Remember the last time I showed you my favourite breakfast? That contained oatmeal, some raspberries and some melted chocolate as a topping. In that blog post, I also wrote about how I started to like having a smoothie as breakfast. In the past year I tried so many different breakfast recipes, seriously, you don’t want to know! Breakfast has become my favourite meal of the day. When I was in Canterbury for my study abroad program I often went to town to have breakfast at cute places like Kitch and The Skinny Kitchen (read all about my favourite places for food in Canterbury here), but most of all I like to try out new things myself.
My current favourite? This banana and blueberry smoothie bowl. Smoothies are without doubt a favourite of mine when it comes to a quick but nice and healthy breakfast. When I have some more time, I will make a smoothie bowl. This one contains 1 banana, a handful of blueberries, about 4 strawberries and 3/4 of a glass of almond milk. Also, I will always add one tablespoon of oats, to make my smoothie more filling. Today I added some extra oats, some coconut powder and a few pecan nuts as toppings. Of course you can add whatever you like! Enjoy your mornings! X
